Besheer Mohamed is a research associate at the Pew Research
Center’s Forum on Religion & Public Life. He specializes in issues related
to religious identity, with a specific focus on Muslim Americans. Prior
to joining the Pew Forum, Besheer worked at the University of Chicago’s Survey
Lab.
Besheer received his Ph.D. from the Department of Sociology
at the University of Chicago. His dissertation examines the relationship
between religious identity and social attitudes among American Muslims. He also
earned a master’s degree in Middle East Studies from the University of Chicago.
