The Hindu American Foundation held a forum Saturday in Farmington
Hills, raising $30,000 from local residents to help spread its message
of pluralism and peace.
Co-founded by Southfield native Dr.
Mihir Meghani, the Hindu American Foundation is the only group based in
Washington D.C. that deals with issues related to Hinduism. Meghani
spoke to a crowd of about 75 local Indian-Americans about the group's
work to help protect civil rights and the plight of Hindus in places
where they are a minority such as Malaysia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and
the Kashmir valley in India.
