Rosa Shareef and her husband, Alvin, are Muslim. While she confessed that she is met with the occasional awkward stare, for the most part, her faith has never been an issue - and she doesn't see why it needs to be.

But with two separate Congressional hearings on Islam last month - one dealing with the radicalization of Muslims in America and the other addressing Muslims' civil rights - Islam has become a hot-button issue in the country.
