On Thursday, the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life released a new report
looking at 53 mosque controversies around the nation since 2000. The
report features an interactive map of the 53 cases across the nation.
One of the most infamous controversies is of a Mosque proposed 2
blocks from the site of the World trade Center attacks. In 2010, the
proposition of the Islamic Community Center in Manhattan, New York
sparked many protests in opposition and in support of the center being built.
