As enthused as the Rev. Lou Sheldon is over Rick Santorum's
strong Iowa showing, other influential Orange County Republicans see
Tuesday's caucus results swinging momentum further in the direction of
frontrunner Mitt Romney. Romney bested Santorum by just eight votes, but a month ago was running a distant second in the state.
"If you don't have the infrastructure in place to win in multiple states at the same time, you can't win nationwide," said Scott Baugh,
who isn't endorsing a primary candidate. "And Romney is the only one
who has that infrastructure in place. It's certainly Romney's to lose at
this point."
