Chicago Tribune: Aldermen: Religious institutions should get break on water

Mayor Rahm Emanuel's plan to end free water for nonprofits emerged Wednesday as a possible sticking point in his budget proposal as aldermen questioned whether religious organizations should be made to pay.

Ald. Edward Burke, chairman of the City Council Finance Committee, said he wanted to exempt religious institutions and their schools from paying their water bills.
