LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Amish men
facing jail time in western Kentucky for failing to display orange
triangles on their horse-drawn buggies say they have "a conscientious
objection" to using the required signs.
One of the men, John
Hostetler, filed a handwritten paper in Graves County District Court on
Monday providing reasons why he and others reject the slow-moving
vehicle signs. The men belong to a conservative sect of Amish called Old
Order Swartzentruber.
