SYDNEY: Every Sunday, Mr
Bernard Wong turns up at a red-brick church near the centre of Sydney,
which offers him a choice of services conducted in English, Cantonese or
Mandarin.
Mr Wong, more often than
not, ends up settling for a combination. Though born in Australia and
raised to speak Cantonese, he chooses the 45-minute Mandarin service to
try to improve his speaking skills, and then switches to the one in
English.
