A divisive ballot initiative that would allow terminally ill patients
to end their lives with medication prescribed by physicians was
narrowly defeated.
The Death with Dignity Campaign conceded early Wednesday morning as
preliminary results indicated opponents turned in 51 percent of the
vote, or about 38,000 more votes than supporters, with 93 percent of
precincts reporting, according to the State House News Service.
