His willingness to open the centre was a reflection of his belief
that the Catholic Church in Australia was doing a good job tackling the
problems of an increasingly secular Western world, according to Cardinal
George Pell.
"He doesn't go to too many things; I think it is a
sign of his esteem," said Cardinal Pell after the 84-year-old Pope
visited the new "Domus Australia" complex.
