THE
UN Conference on Sustainable Development, called Rio+20, will take
place in Rio de Janeiro from tomorrow until June 26th. It will be
attended by heads of state, politicians, environmentalists, journalists
and members of civil society organisations.
The conference will focus on two themes: how to promote a green economy
in the context of sustainable development and the eradication of global
poverty; and on the institutional framework required to underpin
sustainable development. This is not the first time these have been
discussed.
