VARANASI: Cross the congested gullies of Muslim dominated localities
of Shalarpura, Badi Bazar to a locality called Chhitanpura where the
Barul-Uloom madrassa conducts classes on communal harmony. Here Hindu
holy text Bhagwad Geeta and also the holy Bible is taught to students
along with the holy Quran.
According to Haji Mukhtar Ahmed,
general secretary of the private Islamic seminary, pupils at the
madrassa are taught preachings of different religious groups so that
they can carry out a comparative study between all religions and know
the depth of the phrase 'God is One'.
