WICHITA, Kan. (AP) - A
group that has advocated for Congress to defund Planned Parenthood is
trying to enter the legal fray in Kansas over a state law stripping a
Planned Parenthood chapter of federal family planning money.
The St. Louis-based Eagle
Forum Education and Legal Defense Fund asked the 10th Circuit Court of
Appeals on Tuesday for permission to file a friend-of-court brief
supporting Kansas. The proposed 48-page brief asks the appeals court to
do away with U.S. District Judge J. Thomas Marten's order blocking
enforcement of the new law.
