AP: New Mexico religious schools state aid contested

SANTA FE, N.M. — Two New Mexico residents are challenging in court a 40-year-old law of providing textbooks to religious schools.

The Santa Fe New Mexican (http://bit.ly/tyJHB6 ) reports a petition filed before the state Supreme Court Wednesday claims that more than 40 percent of the money the state spends on textbooks for private schools goes to religious schools.
