outside the mosque in Istanbul’s pious neighborhood of Fatih, hundreds
of young men and women prayed for the souls of the workers killed in
Turkey’s all too common industrial accidents. Then they picked up their
placards and marched across town to join the leftists and labor unions
at their rally in Taksim square.
