It’s 6:30 a.m. on a December morning and outside St. Bartholomew’s Anglican Church in Regent Park the sidewalk is dark and deserted.

Since no lit windows face Dundas St. E., it’s hard to tell if the building is open. But the basement doors give way easily under a little pressure.
