'Heroic Conservatism': A Conversation with Author Michael Gerson

Former presidential policy advisor and speechwriter Michael Gerson discussed his new book, Heroic Conservatism, at the Pew Forum. In response to questions, he defined "heroic conservatism" and evaluated the Bush administration's record on implementing the "compassionate conservative" philosophy that he helped develop.

Mike Huckabee on Religion and the Election

Recent polls show that strong support from evangelical Christians has helped propel Mike Huckabee's presidential campaign in Iowa heading into the Jan. 3 Republican caucus there. At a June luncheon with journalists at the Pew Forum, Huckabee, a Baptist minister, discussed his faith and the role religion might play in the election.
