On June 13, the Brookings Institution held a discussion of Akbar Ahmed's new book, Journey into Islam: The Crisis of Globalization, published through a partnership among Brookings, the Pew Forum and American University's School of International Service. Rejecting conventional wisdom about Islam and its encounters with globalization, Ambassador Ahmed and fellow panelists offered suggestions on how the U.S. can improve relations with Muslim nations.
