McCain Shores Up Religious Support

A polling analysis by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press shows that from January to February John McCain enjoyed significant gains among white evangelical Protestants (+7 percentage points), white mainline Protestants (+19) and white Catholics (+10). McCain held substantial leads among all of these religious segments of the Republican electorate, with the exception of white evangelical Protestants. McCain was tied with Mike Huckabee among these voters (34% each).  Read more at people-press.org »
