Mitt Romney won the Arizona primary by a large margin and secured a narrow victory in the Michigan primary. A new Pew Forum analysis of exit poll data finds that in both states, his support among born-again/evangelical voters was weaker than among non-evangelicals, continuing the pattern from previous primaries and caucuses in other states. Public Views of the Divide Between Religion and Politics

In both 2010 and 2008, Pew Research Center polls showed narrow majorities saying that churches and other houses of worship should keep out of political matters rather than express their views on social and political questions. Pew Forum Senior Resarcher Presents Findings to U.N. Human Rights Council

On Feb. 27, Pew Forum Senior Researcher and Director of Cross-National Data Brian J. Grim presented the findings of the Pew Forum's August 2011 report Rising Restrictions on Religion at a meeting of foreign ministers during the High Level Segment of the 19th session of the United Nation's Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland.

An article on Saddleback Church pastor Rick Warren's efforts to bring evangelical Christians and Muslims together cites a 2007 Pew Forum survey report. The report found that while roughly half of white mainline Protestants (51%) and white Catholics (48%) express favorable views of Muslims, only about quarter of white evangelicals (24%) say the same.
