An analysis of newly released 2008 exit poll data finds that while Barack Obama attracted a larger share of the vote from some religious groups than John Kerry did in 2004, the large gaps in the electorate that had developed along religious lines in earlier elections persisted in 2008. Far from ground zero, opponents fight new mosques 
Associated Press reporter Travis Loller explores the growing opposition to the construction of new mosques and Islamic centers throughout the U.S. - from New York City to the suburbs of Nashville, Tenn., to Southern California. He cites a 2007 Pew Research Center survey that found that 39 percent of foreign-born adult Muslims living in the U.S. have come to the States since 1990.
