A new Pew Forum demographic study of more than 200 countries finds that there are 2.18 billion Christians of all ages around the world, representing nearly a third of the estimated 2010 global population of 6.9 billion. | During a speech at the Istanbul Process for Combating Intolerance and Discrimination Based on Religion or Belief, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton cited a recent Pew Forum report, Rising Restrictions on Religion. The report found that nearly 70% of the world's 6.9 billion people live in countries where governments impose high restrictions on religion or where there are high levels of religious hostilities in society. |
