Prayer in America
A federal district court in Wisconsin recently ruled that the declaration of a National Day of Prayer is unconstitutional, but this ruling is being challenged in the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals. Meanwhile, President Obama has stated that he will go forward with his plans to proclaim May 6 as a National Day of Prayer.
 
A Pew Forum graphic shows that prayer is a common religious practice in America, with nearly six-in-ten adults in the U.S. saying they pray at least once a day. 
Journalists and Pew Forum Experts Probe New Survey Findings
Last week, the Pew Forum released a new 19-country survey on Islam and Christianity in sub-Saharan Africa. The Forum hosted a conference call with journalists on the day of the release to discuss the report's findings.

The Economist explores a new Pew Forum survey on Islam and Christianity in sub-Saharan Africa, highlighting the ways African Christians and Muslims view one another. The article cites the finding that while Christians and Muslims each see things to admire about the other's faith, many Christians in the region also see in Islam the potential for violence.
