Blacks, mirroring larger U.S. trend, 'come out' as nonbelievers
Religion News Service reporters Chika Oduah and Lauren E. Bohn discuss the challenges that atheist, agnostic and secularist African-Americans face if they openly acknowledge their beliefs to religious African-Americans. They cite a 2009 Pew Forum study
that found that 87 percent of African-Americans affiliate with one religious group or another.
