Ramadan, the ninth month of the Muslim lunar calendar, is marked by daytime fasting to commemorate the revelation of the first verses of the Koran, the Muslim holy book. The January 2011 report estimates that Norway's population was 3% Muslim in 2010, and projects that Norway's Muslim population will more than double to 6.5% by 2030. |
